Bunker Survey

The marine surveyor's task during a bunker survey is to measure the quantity of fuel oil and diesel oil on board of a vessel for the current moment.

Provide independent verification of the loaded bunker, minimising the risk when compared with the quantity information of the bunker terminal or provider.
On / Off Hire Surveys
SERVICE DELIVERED
Attend on board to determine the number of bunkers on board at commencement or completion of a charter. To Inspect cargo holds / Tanks and other structures for current condition and damages that are pre-existing at the time of charter.
RISK BEING MITIGATED
Independent verification of bunker levels so that an agreed value of bunkers passes from one party to another. To protect parties in the event of damages to cargo holds or structure are sustained during the period of the charter.
P & I / Insurance / Loss & Damage

Reporting and investigation services on behalf of insurance companies or cargo interests, through to final claims and salvage process.
RISK BEING MITIGATED
The identification between total and partial loss when salvaging can provide a high-value cost saving. Independent reporting on insurance claims assists in counter or cross-claim proceedings.
Prepurchase Inspection Vessel
SERVICE DELIVERED
Survey to provide the buyer with the necessary information to make objective and balanced decisions regarding the condition and operational capability of the vessel prior to purchase.
RISK BEING MITIGATED
Detailed survey providing an extensive report of vessel condition. Additionally, the survey identifies if other risks need to be mitigated, i.e. are there any damages to the hull or engine that could result in a condition of class. Examination of records to determine fuel consumption v speed. Are there any major items of maintenance that are due or close to being due. Does the ship comply with all international standards? Ensures buyer confidence and in-depth understanding of asset pre-acquisition.
Ship Pre-Vetting
SERVICE DELIVERED
Inspection is undertaken on a vessel to give owner/operators independent insight into the performance and efficiencies of both vessel and crew.
RISK BEING MITIGATED
Minimising environmental and commercial costs by identifying issues before they lead to major problems. Un-resolved works could lead to increased inspections by Port State Control authorities. The vessel may be blacklisted from terminals/ports if it doesn't comply with local and global regulations.
ISM Audit

These are previous audits carried out on behalf of the Operator, to evaluate the correct implementation of the International Code of Safety Management on board, through internal audits and to prepare the ship.

Hull and Machinery Survey

Inspection of the hull or machinery to determine the extent of damage after the incident, including details of the potential cause, description of the damage, repair options and potential costs.

Specific understanding of the nature of the damage, and the operational obstacles and limitations of the vessel.
Port / Terminal Condition Survey
SERVICE DELIVERED
Usually, a condition survey and a detailed structural survey are conducted to gather information for the development of possible repairs. This document will also discuss the common types of problems, the common causes of the problems, the maintenance work involved and the materials or equipment used in accordance with the specifications contracted for the study. The methodology used to carry out this study includes bibliographic search and interviews with the professional involved in the maintenance of the port.
RISK OF BEING MITIGATED
This inspection / evaluation allows the port administrator to take early preventive actions for possible structural and documentary deviations, allowing a better compliance with national and international regulations.
